Eligibility
Camps 'R' Us receives hundreds of job applications each year for its summer camp programs. Applicants must possess certain skills and abilities necessary to become a part of the most respected and admired Staff in the camping industry.
The following positions are granted at the sole discretion of the Camps 'R' Us Administration, and are awarded only after careful evaluation by the Selection Committee and the Board of Directors. Applications will only be accepted for these positions if the applicant has already spoken to a Camps 'R' Us Director.

- Program Director
- Teacher
- Voyager Leader
The following positions are granted to new applicants through the standard hiring process. For consideration as a new member of the Camps 'R' Us staff, the applicant for each position must meet the following requirements at the discretion of the Administration.
Junior Counselor
- Be 15 years of age.
- Have attended a Camps 'R' Us C2 (CIT) Program last summer.
General Counselor
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Have at least two years prior work experience with children.
Voyager Counselor
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have at least two years of camp experience at Camps 'R' Us or at least three years of camp experience at another summer camp.
- Complete an Advanced Interview with the Camps 'R' Us Administration.
Floating Counselor
- Be at least 17 years of age.
- Have at least two years prior work experience with children.
- Possess a valid Driver's License and a personal motor vehicle.
Specialist
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have at least three years of camp experience at Camps 'R' Us or at least four years of camp experience at another summer camp.
- Possess a unique skill set comparable with the program activities under his/her direction.
Group Leader
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have completed one year of college.
- Have at least three years of camp experience at Camps 'R' Us or at least four years of camp experience at another summer camp.
Additional Requirements for All Staff
All potential staff members must...
- Provide at least three personal references (non-family members).
- Be screened in an interview with a Camps 'R' Us Director.
- Participate in the Training and Orientation Program.
- Be screened through a Federal, State, and Local Criminal Background Check.
