Girl Scout Programming Coming to CRU in 2017?
Camps ‘R’ Us is exploring a potential new program in cooperation with the Girl Scouts to offer a dynamic and exciting camp program this coming summer.
Girl Scouts of Nassau County is excited to help us bring an all new program to Camps ‘R’ Us, stating “all of the activities below expand on Girl Scout topics but are different than anything we’ve done, so whether you’re a current Girl Scout, former Girl Scout, or [have] not yet been involved in Girl Scouting, we’ve got something fun for you. In all of our programs girls participate in fun team-building and leadership activities while making the world a better place.”
Make unique animal masks, stretch your mind and body with animal yoga, and teach others about pet safety.
Design a book highlighting your unique friendship qualities, play fun team-building games to learn about qualities of good teams, and create a colorful map towards a better community.
Create super power art while exploring your own personal super powers, imagine yourself as a leader by learning about current powerful people and what it might feel like to be in their shoes, and use artistic techniques to design a plan to be a leader in your own life.
6th Grade & Up
Look at ways beauty perceptions change around the world, stereotypes in the media, smart ways to use media, and create your own magazine cover.
In Girl Scout Programs, girls discover more information about themselves, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. They develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through a variety of hands-on activities based on our award-winning Journey books.
