Food Drive

This summer, Camps ‘R’ Us is proud to partner with Island Harvest, and their Campers Against Hunger Food Drive Challenge. We are asking campers, staff members and parents to donate non-perishable food items that will be distributed to hungry people across Long Island.

Our 2016 goal is to deliver 10,000 pounds of food.

Our challenge will commence on Monday, June 27th. Donation boxes will be located at each of our six campuses, and donations will be tracked by our C2 Program Participants (as a service project) to give recognition to our top performers. Certificates and prizes will be awarded to campers and staff who make the most donations.

Camps ‘R’ Us will also provide campers, staff members and parents with resources to solicit food and charitable monetary donations from relatives, friends and local business owners during the summer.

We will be delivering all donated food items to Island Harvest by the end of the summer camp season.

In addition, Camps ‘R’ Us is requesting canned food items as ‘admission’ to certain camp-sponsored events, open houses, reunions and staff training programs. We don’t have to wait until summer to make a difference!

Thank you in advance for your help and support. Our 2016 goal is to deliver 10,000 pounds of food. With the support of our CRU family, we are confident that we can meet or exceed our goal this summer!
