Ask any camper what they are most excited about, and field trips are almost always near the top of the list. That energy is real, and we take it seriously. At Camps ‘R’ Us, off-campus excursions are not a nice extra. They are a core part of the program for every camper, every summer.
Since 1993, our family-owned program has treated field trips as a meaningful extension of what we do on campus. As Long Island’s most affordable ACA-accredited private day camp, we give families an exceptional trip experience without the price tag that usually comes with it. Here is how our trip program works across each of our programs.
Tiny Tots® and Campers: Two Included Trips Plus Bonus Options
Our Tiny Tots® and Campers programs each include two off-campus trips as part of tuition. For Summer 2026, those trips are Adventureland and The Movies. No extra cost, no forms to fill out. They are simply part of the summer for every child in these programs.
Beyond those two, we offer what we call bonus trips throughout the summer. These are additional excursions with a separate, optional cost. We designed the program this way on purpose: we never want to charge a family for a trip their child did not attend, and we want campers and families to have a real say in what their summer looks like. Families opt in, pay only for what they choose, and their child has a great day either way.
Explorers®: All Trips Included
Our Explorers® program is our most immersive experience for older campers, and the trip schedule reflects that. Every field trip for Explorers® is included in tuition. Families enrolling in this program know upfront that a fuller slate of off-campus adventures is built into what they are paying for. It is a bigger program with a bigger experience, and the trips are a significant part of what makes it that way.
Trip Day at Camp: A Great Day No Matter What
On every trip day, all of our main camp activities continue running as normal on campus. If a family decides a bonus trip is not the right fit, their camper is not sitting in a half-empty gym or missing out on the day. They are having a full, regular camp day with the same programs, the same staff, and the same energy.
That is by design. Nobody should feel like they made the wrong choice. Whether a camper heads out on an adventure or spends the day on campus, it is a good day.
Safety and Supervision on Every Trip
Taking a group of kids off campus requires a higher level of planning and accountability. We have been doing it for over 30 years, and we approach every excursion with the same structure we bring to our campuses every day.
Every trip is led by our experienced staff, many of whom are professional educators. Campers travel in small, assigned groups and are supervised throughout the entire outing. We handle the headcounts, the transitions, and the logistics so the day runs smoothly for everyone. Parents can rest easy knowing their child is in capable hands from departure to return.
Field Trips as Part of the Bigger Picture
Field trips break up the weekly rhythm, give campers something to look forward to, and create shared memories that carry through the whole summer. The stories kids bring home from these days tend to be the ones that stick. Being somewhere new together has a way of bringing a group closer that a regular camp day does not always replicate.
