Our Campers are “going places” this summer!

Long Island is the perfect place to explore interests off campus, and offers so many wonderful venues for our Campers to visit. Trips are planned periodically throughout the summer, and specifically for each Camper program. There are also some trips planned for the entire campus! There are two field trips included in your camp tuition (if your camper is enrolled on the day those trips are scheduled.

Bonus Field Trips

Each summer, Campers are offered optional “bonus” field trips, which are added to spice up our travel plans off campus. Bonus trips are available for all camp programs, and appear on your campus calendar with a “$” icon indicating that the trip is a bonus trip.

Bonus trips require an online consent form to be completed for each camper in your Camp Account, and are offered for an additional fee not included in the camp tuition. Camps ‘R’ Us offers “passthrough” pricing on all bonus field trips. Trip fees are calculated based on admission costs for Campers and Staff, additional amenities, transportation, parking, and insurance.

Bonus Trip Forms Deadlines, Expiration Dates, and Fees

Bonus trip forms are available in your camp account (CampInTouch or the Campanion App), and are due by the posted date on the form. Trip forms will expire and disappear from your account if they are not completed before the expiration date, which is usually midnight the day they are due. Trip fees will be added to your camp account at some point after the trip date, and are payable according to the same terms of your camp tuition.

Please note: C2 Program Campers are invited to all bonus field trips free of charge, as long as their assigned group is attending the trips.

Join our awesome team and you can change the world for a child this summer while developing your personal and professional skills!

Did you know that Leadership is learned in a real-life context? At camp you will supervise others and engage in decision-making, behavior management, and living ethics — all necessary leadership skills for today.

Communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and contribution that are critical for success in today's world are developed and practiced at camp; they are skills and traits that can draw employers' attention to your resume.

Working at camp, you’ll be challenged to use critical thinking and problem solving in a myriad of issues from the health and safety of children to how to get 12 Campers to agree on the same elective in the afternoon.

You will receive on-the-ground, practical, real-life training in how to work with a team and help build the culture of your camp community.

Working at camp you will model professionalism and compassion by managing a group of Campers, while contributing to the growth and development of each individual participant

Imagining the world in new ways requires creativity. At camp, you will develop innovative and fun ways to engage an audience of three to 300 and implement alternate plans when faced with unexpected changes to the daily routine.

In fact, you may be eligible for college credit in some cases or able to use camp as an independent study, practicum, or internship experience. Ask your advisor how the skills you will learn directly relate to your major and will make you a stronger job candidate.

Camp provides a global, diverse experience without the expense of long-distance travel; it is not uncommon for Campers and Staff to experience a variety of cultural and unique activities over the summer.

Exceptional Managers are exceptional networkers. Network with other Staff and build connections to camp Alumni who can provide a link to possible internships or future job opportunities in a variety of careers.
