What Campers Experience
From thrilling roller coasters to timeless classics like the Ferris Wheel and Antique Cars, there is something for every camper at Adventureland. Younger campers have their own dedicated space in the Kiddieland area, while older campers explore the wider park with their groups. Throughout the day, campers get time in the indoor arcade, enjoy classic Adventureland food, and take a break for lunch. All of it happens with staff supervising every step of the way, making this one of the most well-staffed and well-organized days of the entire summer.
Highlights
- Exclusive Access. Camps ‘R’ Us reserves the entire park for this trip. Adventureland is closed to the public and belongs entirely to our campers for the day.
- Our Lowest Camper to Staff Ratio. With all campuses attending, there are approximately 400 staff members present throughout the day. Additional staff are assigned to every group, making this the most supervised trip we offer all summer.
- Cross-Campus Connections. All campuses come together for this trip. Campers stay with their assigned grade groups from their home campus but get the rare opportunity to meet and interact with kids from every CRU location across Long Island.
- Kiddieland. Our youngest campers have their own dedicated area of the park designed specifically for them, so every age group gets the Adventureland experience that fits them best.
Why We Love It
Camps ‘R’ Us has been proudly visiting Adventureland since 1933, making it our longest-standing trip, and some traditions earn that status for good reason. What makes this trip truly unique is that all nine campuses come together for the day, turning a great amusement park into something much bigger than the sum of its parts. What we love most about Adventureland isn’t just the rides or the memories. It’s the atmosphere. The energy of over a thousand campers and staff filling the park on a summer day creates something that is hard to put into words and impossible to forget.
FAQ
Yes. Adventureland is one of the few trips that brings every CRU campus together. All campers from Tiny Tots through Grade 8 attend, making it one of the most inclusive and exciting days of the entire summer.
This is our lowest camper to staff ratio of any trip all summer. With approximately 400 staff members across all campuses present, every group has additional staff assigned throughout the day. Campers stay with their assigned grade groups from their home campus at all times.
Yes. Adventureland has height and age restrictions on certain rides that are set and enforced exclusively by the park. CRU staff have no authority over these decisions. We strongly encourage parents to review Adventureland’s ride requirements with their camper before the trip so there are no surprises on the day. Ride information is available on the Adventureland website.
Adventureland’s full food offerings can be found on their website, as the menu changes from year to year. Lunch pre-order options will be shared closer to the trip and typically include classic amusement park favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, french fries, and pizza. Please note that we are unable to microwave any food on this trip day.
Spending money is completely optional. Every camper will receive ice cream when they return to campus, so no money is needed for a treat. If you choose to send money, we recommend between $15 and $25 for gift shops and snacks. Campers carry their money in the lanyard and clear pouch provided in their backpack. Counselors are unable to hold money for campers for safety reasons.
