Bring Characters to Life

Acting is part of the Summer Stage Musical Theatre Program.

Campers will have the opportunity to delve into the art of scene study, a fundamental aspect of musical theatre performance. Each participant may be assigned a scene from a well-known musical, carefully selected to suit their age and skill level.

The activity begins with an interactive session on character analysis, where students learn to understand their character’s motivations, emotions, and relationships. This is followed by voice and movement exercises, helping them to physically and vocally embody their character.

Next, Campers will rehearse their scenes in small groups, under the guidance of our experienced instructors. They will explore how to use their voice, facial expressions, and body language to convey the story and emotions of the scene. The focus is on collaborative work, encouraging Campers to interact with their scene partners and respond to their cues.

As the session progresses, the instructors will provide personalized feedback, helping each Camper refine their performance.

This activity not only enhances the Campers’ acting skills but also fosters confidence, creativity, and teamwork, making it a highlight of our musical theatre workshop.
